Hi, I'm Austen. I founded Firgrove Furniture & Fittings out of a genuine love for working with wood and its natural beauty.I learned my craft from my grandfather, a skilled carpenter who became an accomplished architect. He taught me the value of traditional techniques and the importance of creating furniture built to last a lifetime. That commitment to quality is the foundation of everything I do.But my passion extends beyond the workshop. After talking to people here in Portsmouth, I saw a real need in our community. It became apparent that reliable, local tradespeople were often not interested in taking on smaller jobs, leaving many without help for tasks they weren't sure how to do or simply couldn't manage themselves.This inspired my mission: to bring the trusted local handyman back to the community.With my broad knowledge of trades—from carpentry and plumbing to painting and decorating—I take on the many tasks that make a house a home.
